Read Across America March 2nd

Tomorrow is Read Across America day in honor or Dr. Suess’ birthday.  Libraries, parents, schools will be reading to children sponsored by the NEA (National Education Association) an award winning literacy program.

This takes place each year on or around March 2nd, Dr. Seuss’ birthday who had a love of learning.  The NEA has three reasons to read to your kids:

  1. Kids who read–and are read to–do better in school and in life.
  2. The National Education Association asks every community to celebrate reading not only on March 2, Dr. Seuss’s birthday but all year long.
  3. The award-winning literacy program provides resources, activities, grants, and partnerships to encourage kids and teens to read, read, read.
